Of course he is very talent and great player. Adaptability is very important when it comes to international level. He got the opportunity earlier he failed. Now lot of people waiting in the queue. Seeing his hundred all should not decide at once. Selectors doing a good job now, they are well matured as comparing before. As far as my opinion, this team men in white and men in blue doing well. We should support them always. Bowling department should need some accuracy, discipline and consistency. Training is very essential for our bowlers, bowlers have to win matches especially pace bowlers in abroad conditions.Let's cross our fingers, support our team wishing them to have a great success in upcoming series SA, AUSTRALIA, ENGLAND One of the most technically gifted batsman of our country, especially his trade-mark on drive, still remember his double hundred against Pakistan ! Unfortunately, selectors never gave him chances that he deserved SC Unfortunately he also played lot of them abroad. Gambhir of the 4 hundreds abroad 2 have been in Bangladesh. Also last two years his average has been in 20s. Meanwhile Jaffer has paid his dues and deserves a shot. While Jaffer built an innings that would do a specialist batsman proud, some of the younger Mumbai batsmen threw their wickets away. While Suryakumar Yadav was the worst offender, Kaustubh Pawar, Siddhesh Lad, Abhishek Nayar and Aditya Tare tried one shot too many on a wicket that required patience. Jaffer hoped the younger lot will learn from their mistakes. "There were a few bad shots. Obviously they must have realised, but they will learn with time. The wicket wasn't doing a lot after the first session so we wanted to build a partnership." affer, however, complimented the Vidarbha pacers for exploiting the conditions well in the morning. "They bowled well. The first session as I said was very trying. The ball was seaming around and they bowled in good areas," Jaffer said, adding that Umesh Yadav, who went wicketless in his 19 overs, was unfortunate. "Umesh being their premier bowler and he is going to South Africa, I am sure he is pumped up for this game. He bowled alright, didn't bowl badly. Unlucky that he didn't pick up wickets." But more than joining an elite list of cricketers to have achieved the feat - a landmark that was celebrated with a cake in the Mumbai dressing room at the end of the day - Jaffer was "delighted" to have come good in trying conditions and rescue his team from a difficult position. "Feels good. Obviously the first session was very trying," Jaffer said. "They won the toss and asked us to bat. We needed to hang around. A couple of wickets went early. There wasn't a big partnership at all; 30-40 (runs) and somebody got out. End of the day, I think we would be happy." Steyn has a mild left side strain while Kallis, who made his comeback to the 50-over format at the start of the series, has a badly sprained joint on the little finger of his right hand. The pair were released from the squad for the final match against Pakistan, who are aiming for a 3-0 sweep, as a precautionary measure so they could be in "prime condition," for the upcoming series against India, according to team manager Mohammad Moosajee.South Africa are in the midst of a busy limited-overs programme which includes 11 ODIs and four T20s in the space of six weeks and it seems to be taking its toll on some players. Steyn played in all four T20s but in only four of the seven ODIs. He was seen in some discomfort during first ODI in Cape Town on Sunday, where he was holding his left side but played in the second match of the series in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday. This is not his first side strain this year - the condition also plagued him during the Champions Trophy.Kallis's problem may be more of a concern. He made a return to the ODI team after an absence of a year and nine months as part of a plan to play in the xxxx World Cup. At 38, he scored a half-century in the first ODI and looked to be settling back into the side. He replaced Faf du Plesiss - who was dropped for the series against Pakistan and India - which leaves South Africa without a replacement batsman. Wayne Parnell may be brought in as an additional allrounder with Ryan McLaren also likely to feature in Saturday's XI. Morne Morkel, who did not play the previous ODI and was also rested from one of the T20s, or Vernon Philander are the candidates to replace Steyn.A series win for the underdogs specially in South Africa is admirable. Batting remains fragile. Both Ahmad Shehzad and Shan Masood need to be more consistent. Umar Akmal had appeared on the cricket scene with so many promises. He is yet to deliver. In the 3rd ODI South Africa will miss the services of Kallis and Steyn, but they have other stars to take the slack. Pakistan must not be tranquil and keep the winning momentum going.Excellent job done by the younsters, a few more youngster to be inducted in teh team for Sri Lanka series, like Sharheel Khan, Hammad Azam, Raza Hasan. We should rest Hafeez, Jamshed, Malik, Afridi. Hafeez is going through bad page.. he will be back soon in form he should Play domestic to get his form back.. steyn rest will only increase chance of clean sweep as he has been leading wicket taker from RSA.I am speaking on behalf of most of pakistanis and I am sure most will agree with me..The world must admit that this pakistan team has shown some courage in last few years..beating world number 1 in uae and then almost having a chance to win against the other one in the same venue. I am talking about courage because this team and majority of its players have never played at home. one must realise playing at home helps in gaining confidence/form. for example india, current no 1 mostly coz its players had an opportnity to play against top sides back at home. (also playing with legends of cricket like tendulkar dravid and dhoni) it helped them grew altogether. bowling has always been pakistan's main strength, will become even more stroger with the return of gull as far as safrica and styen and kallis are concerned, steyn requires some rest, he has performed consistently and shud be utilized properly with the series been won, can afford to rest him..guys kaylis show some respect 4 kalis Smith just like Faf has to be dropped sooner rather than later especially looking forward to the more difficult Indian series. It would have been barable if these numerous chances were given to a future test prospect like Khun,Elgar,Ingram,Cook(I know he is old but has been in fine touch over the past year and a half),Rosouw,Bavuma,Van Zyl who would do with international experience before stepping up to the test team. I'm afraid Smith's time in the ODI side has come and gone. Gone are the days where he used to be the Shikar Dahwn of ODI cricket.I have said this for the last couple of years now that Umar Akmal should swap places with Hafeez in the batting order. Besides that I think this should be the last chance for Nasir Jamshed before he takes a break. Could even argue that Umar Amin should open in the 3rd ODI with Ahmed Shehzad. The team combination looks better than it has done for years due to Bhatti and Anwar Ali both being handy lower order batsmen but Irfan should still walk inot the playing XI in place of Anwar Ali when he becomes fit.The ICC played its part too, by promoting cricket in Nepal and providing exposure to players. Dassanayake thinks that in a few years Nepal will be on par with Associates like Ireland and Netherlands. "This is beginning of another level but we have to do a lot of hard work," he says. or Dassanayake, it is satisfying that Nepal have played the same brand of cricket in victory and defeat. "When we in a seven-over rain-affected match, we had been confident we could beat them and hence were upset. But we played good cricket and stuck to our plans in front of strong crowd support for both sides." On Friday, Nepal face Afghanistan again in the semi-finals of the tournament. Vesawkar wants to beat the arch-rivals, another long-standing desire, but for now he cannot forget the crowd that gathered at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium to infuse the team with energy. After the victory against Hong Kong, as Khadka and his men sang the patriotic anthem "Rato Ra Chandra Surya", the crowd joined the chorus to make the moment that much more special. "It is almost like a festival back home. There have been rallies, candle-light functions and such from the moment we qualified," Khadka says. "Our home minister called us to congratulate the team. People are very excited. As a country we have been waiting for something to unite us. I think cricket has become the unifying factor."When Khadka got out against Hong Kong, he saw Pun crying once again. This time, even Khadka was counting prayer beads in his mind. "It was crazy. When I was batting I was in the zone. You work so hard all your life and it is right there in front you. And then I got out with 10 balls left." Khadka recollects the moment. He had removed his helmet and gloves but he did not sit down. "I was standing there and praying. Please, please, God, you cannot be cruel.I am really glad to read a quality article from Nagraj Gollapudi via http://www.espncricinfo.com/nepal/content/current/story/xxxx87.html . I hope it is the start and we will get lot's of quality opinion about Nepal cricket. It is Incredible achievement for Nepalese cricket fan. We all want to say THANKS to all players, support staff and Coach for providing such a historical milestone. I want to request all our Nepalese TV Channel to broadcast every matches of Nepal, don't worry you will get Sponso. I will watch every matches of Nepal in World T20.......& I didn't think I will get this opportunity. Only resources and facility can't be everything when you desperately want to achieve something with heart......It was proved by Nepal's cricket Players, otherwise every world cup football should won by England and Spain.......n it was rarely happen. It will be a great fun to watch Nepalese cricket player playing for our country in STARsports.........LOVE YOU GUYS!Well written Article, Team deserve at least a couple of cricket stadium in Nepal. I believe now in upcoming months it will be provided or at least government take any action for built up new one. If Nepal makes the First Phase of ICC T20 play off then I am sure that they will make most impact and get much exposure in international level of Cricket. Thanks Mrs Nagraj Gollapudi for this wonderful pieces of words. Really emotional and heart touching. As a nation we have been going through some tough time since a couple of decade. I wish cricinfo follows up with the happening in Nepali Cricket. Congratulations to all of us. We definitely need some support from ICC, ACC, BCA, Srilankan Board, Pak Board and mostly from BCCI (power house of cricket and a neighboring country of Nepal) in the coming future. I would like to remember these lines from our Master skipper Paras Khadka "As a country we have been waiting for something to unite us. I think cricket has become the unifying factor." Good luck against Afgans . No matter who ever may win , just play good cricket. Jay Nepal.has been a milestone man of domestic cricket. Not only does he hold the record for most runs in the Ranji Trophy but he has also scored the most centuries in the tournament. On Thursday, his 34th Ranji hundred, on the opening day of the first-ever clash between Mumbai and Vidarbha, helped him become only the eighth Indian to register 50 first-class centuries. But more than joining an elite list of cricketers to have achieved the feat - a landmark that was celebrated with a cake in the Mumbai dressing room at the end of the day - Jaffer was "delighted" to have come good in trying conditions and rescue his team from a difficult position. "Feels good. Obviously the first session was very trying," Jaffer said. "They won the toss and asked us to bat. We needed to hang around. A couple of wickets went early. There wasn't a big partnership at all; 30-40 (runs) and somebody got out. End of the day, I think we would be happy." Despite Jaffer's unbeaten 133, Mumbai managed to put on only a moderate 254 for 8 at stumps on day one. Jaffer accepted that they had lost a couple of wickets more than they would have liked. "We would have ideally liked to be 260-odd for 6 or something like that. Obviously we have lost a couple of more wickets but we've done a good recovery," Jaffer said. "Umesh being their premier bowler and he is going to South Africa, I am sure he is pumped up for this game. He bowled alright, didn't bowl badly. Unlucky that he didn't pick up wickets." Wasim Jaffer is a very talented batsman, but unfortunately he could't get the much chances to prove his talent in international cricket and i still i believe that selectors should give him some chance to prove his talent, after the retirement of greats Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly & Laxman, wasim Jaffer deserve a chance he is far better batsman then M.vijay, Jaffer is a very technically sound batsman he is a good opening batsman & he can also bat on no. 5, Selectors should definitely give him a chance. There is something called fate. Mascarenhas also scored tons in county cricket but rarely got selected for the English XI. Jaffer seems to be in the same boat. He failed badly in his last outing to Australia and that ended his International career. The selectors have now decided he is too old and the book has been closed shut on him. Others are lucky and they are given opportunity after opportunity. Yuvraj for instance. Finally after so many failures Yuvi scores half a ton and everyone is thrilled beyond measure. Sometimes being good is not enough. Lady luck has to be on your side too.Sehwag is 35 and he began batting with spectacles at the start of xxxx. He would be the first to admit his reflexes are not as quick as they once were. It is a hurdle Vengskar fears Sewhag will have to fight for the rest of his career. "As long as any player of that calibre is playing first-class cricket, I will not rule him out. But it will be an uphill task from here. He is a player with a hand-eye co-ordination. He is not a technically correct player. For a technically correct player, when he is out of form, even if he is older, it is much easier to score runs. But for a person like Sehwag, if your reflexes slow down, and your eye sight gets weaker even slightly, it gets more difficult." Back off or take on the challenge, is Upton's suggestion. "Confidence can be misleading," he said. "Confidence is something that is linked to results, and so will always go up and come down, just as results naturally rise and fall. I believe a more important ingredient for success is self-esteem. This remains pretty much the same, whether the athlete succeeds or fails. An athlete with high self-esteem will not rely on results to look good, and will not fear failure or be too concerned about looking bad. They thus will not be pressurised by low form nor become over-confident with a run of good form. "An athlete with low self-esteem relies on good results to feel good, and fears poor results and the accompanying not looking/feeling good. This person will struggle to come back from low form, and may lose good form early due to over-confidence," Upton said. "Viru does not need to continue playing international cricket - he has left his legacy already - but he may want to continue."
